Tennessee Titans Tickets – Titans Step up to Help Flooded Nashville

Early May was marked with flooding and tragedy for the Southern states affected by the major storms that struck the region. Dozens of lives were lost, and the physical damage to the areas is equally as devastating. One of the cities hit worst by the storms was the city of Nashville. The Tennessee Titans’ LP Field suffered minor damage, but other areas weren’t so lucky. The Titans stepped forward to help those around them, starting with Titans owner Bud Adams.

int venture with the NFL and the players union to donate $400,000 to the American Red Cross and the charity Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. According to the NFL’s website, Adams stated he hoped others would follow suit. He said, “I have unfortunately lived through many devastating hurricanes and know first-hand the damage that flooding can cause. I know the needs are great in the region and I hope that this contribution will help in some way. I would encourage our fans to do what the

The Titans’ quarterback Vince Young is reaching out on his own to raise money for flood relief, as well. For everyone who donates $100 to the relief effort, Young will send a T-shirt and an autographed photo. He has named the program “10 for 10.” Vince Young’s effort to help the city mirrors what the city has done to help him this last season, when he transformed from coming off of an injury and personal problems to r

eturning to the helm of the team. Last season, he started in 10 games and finished with 1,879 yards, 10 touchdowns, seven interceptions and a passer rating of 82.8.

Even with the flooding, the Titans are still gearing up for the 2010 season. One way that they have done that is by adding a new running back, LeGarrette Blount. Blount had a good run while with Oregon, but he went undrafted presumably because of an incident he is most known for. Blount was the player who infamously punched a Boise State player following the team’s 2009 season opener. He was suspended and has since apologized. The Titans signed Blount after he was in the process of working out a deal with the San Francisco 49ers. Blount’s contract is in addition to the team’s picks from the 2010 NFL Draft. According to most analysts, the Titans did a good job of addressing their major needs in the draft. They started in the first round by selecting Georgia Tech defensive end Derrick Morgan with the 18th overall pick. They were without a pick in the second round, but picked up two players in the third round. The first was Southern Cal wide receiver Damian Williams and the second was Georgia linebacker Rennie Curran. The Titans followed with UCLA cornerback Alterraun Verner in the fourth round. In the later rounds, they added Utah defensive back Robert Johnson, Florida Atlantic quarterback Rusty Smith, Florida State strong safety Myron Rolle, Montana wide receiver Marc Mariani and Brown defensive tackle David Howard.
