No matter what sport it may be hockey, basketball, baseball, football or any other sport, a true fan is not judged by the amount of games he has watched but how big of a role that sport plays on their lives. are more than just that, there is just something truly remarkable about watching your favorite team take to the field. Seeing those men and women who have dedicated their whole lives to their particular sport, showing up with that stern look on their face as if they could never be defeated. And no matter what partakes that afternoon, they will show up again and again with that same look of determination and they will give it there all every single time.Because the true strength of one self is n

ot shown during the best of times but during the worst. Which brings me back to the Olympics, I was watching women’s hockey and Canada was up against Slovakia. Time after time they pummeled their competition in every way possible and although they stood no way of winning against the onslaught the Slovakia’s goalie would not give in. Her teammates where so exhausted that they could no longer stay and protect their precious goal from the constant attack yet still she stood as a true monument of

the sport. Times like these are what truly make sports great because under all the flash and cameras is the mark of true warriors who do not know the word quit, do not know the meaning to give in. For guts and glory they will stand and while doing so they set an example for the rest of us, death before defeat and a refusal to loose even when there is no other possible out come.That is what makes a true fan display the colors of his team.
