I have to give Churchill Downs, Inc. a lot of credit. They are doing a brilliant job preserving and even furthering the legacy of the Kentucky Derby and the sport of horse racing as a whole, and it seems to be paying off. I noticed that the track was making 3,000 Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks packages available on Wednesday January 6th, and I just absorbed that info and kind of forgot about it for a few days. The next time I checked their site, I saw that this allotment of Derby ticket packag

es had sold out the same day that they went on sale. That is really impressive, but get this: they sold out in 48 minutes. That is quite an endorsement for the viability of this big event if I do say so myself.

The last time I checked, you can still get general admission tickets to the Kentucky Derby and Kentucky Oaks through the ChurchillDowns.com website. They also recommend that people who are interested in tickets should check back often because they are making additional inventory availab

le on an ongoing basis, but they get no more specific than that.
