Brandon Marshall’s future with Broncos

Although Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels said Sunday that his team isn’t going to trade wide receiver Brandon Marshall. We still hear some word that they are trying to get rid of him.

“We’re looking forward to having Brandon back on Sept. 6 and starting our preparations for (the season opener at) Cincinnati with him,” McDaniels said, “There’s no discussions whatsoever taking place between the Denver Broncos and any team in the NFL regarding Brandon Marshall.”

This draws similarities

to the coach’s confidence that Jay Cutler would be Denver’s quarterback in 2009-2010, and Cutler is now in Chicago. It’s too hard for both sides to rebuild the trust between them. They have disagreed about issues ranging from the wide receiver’s health to the actions of the team’s public-relations staff, and a long-term marriage remains difficult to imagine.

One thing is certain, though: It’s a great lost to trade Marshall now in that any team who gets Brandon will benefit a lot.

Lots of teams would like his 12.2 yards per reception average from last year. Jets are considering a trade similar to Cutler’s, in which they can get a Pro Bowl caliber player for less than his actual value.

Should the Broncos have to trade Marshall, McDaniels cannot settle for anything less than a first and fourth round pick. Let’s wait to see at the end of year one through multiple high round picks in the 2010 draft.

Well, I hope Marshall grow up and prove McDaniels that he deserves big
